By the time we matched online, we had both officially reached the “last shot at online dating” stage of life—and somehow, that’s when everything finally clicked. After a month of messages (yes an entire month), we met for our first date at OHSO in downtown Gilbert. We ordered drinks, pulled out a board game, and ended up talking and laughing until the restaurant closed around us. That night, something just felt different—like we’d known each other much longer than a few hours. Since then, life has been filled with exactly what we didn’t know we were waiting for: endless board games (yes, we’re competitive), trying new foods and breweries, and the kind of laughter that makes even ordinary days feel special. We’re truly best friends who happen to be wildly in love—and we still make each other laugh more than anyone else can. The proposal was pure magic…and pure us. While visiting Akaka Falls on the Big Island of Hawaii, Darrell got down on one knee on May the 4th—completely coincidental, according to him (but let’s be honest, the Force was definitely involved). Brittani was so shocked she instinctively tried to steal the ring instead of letting him put it on her finger, but eventually said yes like a normal human. Opie, Brittani’s golden retriever—who is now very much Darrell’s dog too—has fully approved of this relationship and is looking forward to his future as the world’s fluffiest third wheel. We can’t wait to celebrate with the people who have supported us, laughed with us, and loved us through every chapter. Here’s to the next one.
