Three months before Rachel moved across the country to California for graduate school, she never expected meeting the person she would eventually marry. Even though she and Greg grew up skating at the same rink (Greg played hockey while Rachel was a competitive figure skater), they had never previously crossed paths. Neither of them considered a long distance relationship, but once Rachel left the East Coast, they both realized they couldn't live without each other. Two years later, Greg wanted to go to business school, and so he only applied to schools in California so he could be with Rachel on the West Coast, where they lived in their first apartment together. Another two years later, they moved back to the East Coast to set up roots closer to family. On their fifth year anniversary of meeting, Greg surprised Rachel by proposing to her on the rooftop of their Brooklyn apartment, and they couldn't wait to soon call each other "husband" and "wife." Shortly after, COVID-19 spread across the globe, and their plans came to a halt. But a pandemic didn't stop them - their friends and family virtually celebrated them tying the knot on March 6, 2021! And almost a year later, they traveled to Hawaii for their honeymoon - the generosity of their family and friends made it the trip of a lifetime!
