Swipe Right!? Because there’s plenty of fish!

One night I (Steff) was scrolling through POF and came across this profile that looked interesting. This particular profile was pretty straight forward and to the point. He was almost too good to be true after reading his bio. Not to mention his pictures were really cute. He stated that he loved the Lord and that he was looking for a woman with the same intentions. After about a week of communcating through the app we decided to meet up at Chick-Fli-A in Oakley. He had no idea that this was one of my favorite places. This wasn’t an offical date but a “meet and greet”. We wanted to see if there was a vibe. I remember him playing Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas” song on the radio in the car after we’d finish up in the restaurant. After that we set up another date and after that the rest was history. He took the boys sledding for the very 1st time ever last winter. I saw a bond in those three that I couldn’t put into words. He had taken on the role very quickly, that they never experienced on a regular basis. Eventaully we would meet his adorable twins that we see on weekends. This friendship was something I prayed for but wasn’t sure if it would ever happen. In my mind I kind of knew he could be the one. We eventaully started going to church with one another. But one Sunday sitting at Crossroad there was a minister that spoke about how he met his wife and within 4 months they were spending their 1st Valentine’s Day together, then they were married by their 6th month of dating. In my mind I thought, “But how did everyone feel about their decision?” I then realized that no ones opinion mattered but ours. He told me that if his mom were still alive she’d love me. In my mind I wanted to compromise and to let him share the day we say “I do!” on her birthday, Sept 5th. I wanted to somehow incorporate her as well as my mom, being her last daughter to get married and being a cervial cancer surviver an added teal as one of our wedding colors on our special day.
