Eddy and I met during a monthly Youth Advocate’s meeting in Sacramento. That meeting was my last that year and Eddy’s first. When Eddy arrived he asked me and another girl if the chair in between us was available. She said yes and I sarcastically said no. With a raise of his eyebrow he sat down anyways. Shortly into the meeting I realized I was in need of a pen. Just when I gave up looking for one Eddy noticed my need and gave me his. This revealed to me he had an attentive eye which is something I value. My gratitude for a pen turned into a conversation where we learned we were both believers in Jesus Christ. In the end we exchanged work numbers. I called that same afternoon to set up a tour and that blossomed into a full on conversation about where we grew up and went to college and things we enjoyed doing outside work, forgetting we were still on the clock! As we hung up the phone I immediately called my mother and sisters to share that I think I finally met my husband. It was when he told me he went to William Jessup and grew up in Oak Park that I deemed him hood and holy and just my type!
Eddy proposed on July 12th 2019. Exactly one year after we met right before dinner in Monterey after a wonderful time in Carmel he popped the big question to which I gave a resounding YES! He proposed with seashells in hand and tears in his eyes and gently reminded me how much I was worth and that he wanted to make me his wife. We plan to get married on Saturday, October 19th 2019 and would love each of you reading this story to join in the celebration and witness us entering such a beautiful covenant. We love you and may God bless you!
