How We Met

4/2/16

(TL;DR - I met my fianceé at a golf store) Midway thru a Saturday shift at the PGA Superstore, a beautiful young woman walked in and started regripping clubs - I had to meet her! You only get one chance to make a good first impression, after all - didn’t want to screw this one up. I finally decided. I’m a nice guy, why not just go introduce myself and ask for her name? During the next slowdown, I made my way over to the repair desk. I calmly introduced myself, extended my hand and offered the standard “it’s a pleasure to meet you.” From the first introduction, conversation was never a problem for us. We got along great the rest of the shift! I spent as much time as I could over there. She kept bringing up golf and seeing who was off Sunday and wanted to play. She even stuck around until Keith and I finished closing the store - in my eyes, this was the highest form of praise. I walked her to her car while Keith locked all the doors - we said goodbye, no exchange of numbers or future plans made. Nevertheless, it was still the best closing shift in my time at the PGA Superstore. The next morning, I was scheduled to open the club repair desk. Shortly after opening, she came in to (she claims this to this day) “see who was playing golf” later that day! I was shocked, excited and nervous again! (Stef drove 30 minutes to work that morning just to get her clubs to play golf) I think she just wanted to see me - who could blame her?! We exchanged numbers and set up a tee time for later that afternoon at River Hills, just the two of us. Don’t worry about how the round went, what we shot, etc. None of that is important. At all. At the end of the day, I knew I met an incredibly special young woman named Stefany King - the woman I am so excited to be sharing the rest of my life with. -Geordan (P.S. The first draft was almost 3,000 additional words. If you want the UNABRIDGED VERSION, grab a chair, I’m always happy to share my side of the story!)

Our Proposal

11/28/19

Backstory: July 4th weekend Geordan was helping my dad in the garage. Geordan knew if he wanted to propose this year he had to ask my dad permission to marry me. After getting my dads approval, he spent the next four months brainstorming ideas on how to propose and looking for a ring. On Thanksgiving morning we had a tee time on the Norman course at 8:30. We got to the third hole (the hole I live on) and I was helping his dad look for his ball. I walked up to the green and asked Geordan where my ball was and he said he marked it. I started walking over to my ball and noticed the ball marker said something on it.. “Will you marry me? 11-28-19”. I turn to my left and he was down on one knee. I was the happiest girl in the world at that moment!! A couple seconds later I look over towards the cart path and I see my mom, Geordan’s mom and my best friend run out of the bushes. I was so shocked and couldn’t believe what was going on!! I couldn’t be more excited the unique way Geordan asked me to marry him! We both love golf and that will be something we do together the rest of our lives! -Stefany
