Stef's favorite restaurant in the Memphis Area. Reservations HIGHLY encouraged. This is a very small place (12-15 tables) but the food is incredible, as evidenced by Drew, the head chef's, nomination for a James Beard Award. The fondant cake is a must try!
This was one of our favorite dinner spots. They have fantastic espresso martinis, but they're not listed on the menu... you have to know to ask!
We go to this place every Sunday morning for brunch tacos. Weird, maybe, but so good. The queso is amazing! This is by no means an authentic taco joint, which is why we love it... ask for the secret menu!!!
We love this place for takeout. Stef's favorite is the Omar roll and Shaun's is the Joyce.
This is a local chain of burger joints, started in Midtown. The best burger in Memphis!
Memphis has a huge zoo so wear comfy shoes! They offer opportunities to feed the Giraffes (small fee) or you can hang out with a sloth or elephant through their "close encounters" (https://www.memphiszoo.org/close-encounters).
Formerly named the Pink Palace Museum (it's a museum inside of a pink mansion), this place has all sorts of exhibits.
We love to eat out on the front porch of this restaurant when it's nice out. We both love the Egyptian Hawashi, which is basically a pita pocket stuffed with rotisserie meat and mozzarella cheese. The peachy colored sauce they have on the tables here is divine!
This museum is huge! It says it only takes 90 minutes to get through, but it took us more than double that. Book tickets for a morning entry time, then pop over to Central BBQ for lunch. You can enter the second entry time (across from the Lorraine Motel) after lunch.
This is a teeny museum, but it is so cool! It is built along the Mississippi River so there are some gorgeous views. The demonstrations are definitely the best part.
This is a really cool art museum located very close to the Memphis zoo in Overton Park.
Here us out, this is a restaurant located at the top of the Memphis Pyramid, which is a Bass Pro Shop. There is normally a fee ($8) to take the elevator up if you just wanted to go out and take pictures, but if you have a reservation for dinner, you can take the express elevator and I believe the elevator fee is refunded on your tab.
This is a pedestrian bridge that brings you out over the Mississippi River. You can see all of downtown Memphis from up there.
The former home of Elvis Presley! This is 15 min south of downtown Memphis or 25 minutes from the wedding hotels. If you need any Elvis-themed tchotchke, this is your Mecca.
