Roberto and Stefani’s story began with a simple and unexpected meeting. In early June 2024, they first crossed paths at a free dental clinic hosted by the Moses Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church at Crestview Christian School in Moses Lake, Washington. Roberto had come to the clinic with his close friend Freddy Alva, while Stefani was volunteering as a coordinator. During the lunch break, they happened to sit at the same table, shared a brief conversation, and went their separate ways — unaware that this small moment would later become the beginning of something special. Eight months later, a mutual friend from church, Renee Murrugarra, believed they would be a wonderful match and arranged for them to meet again. When Roberto and Stefani sat down together that afternoon at the Moses Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, the conversation flowed easily. They quickly discovered how much they had in common: a strong Christian faith, a desire to serve others, curiosity about other cultures, a shared past studying Mandarin, and even a mutual love for sushi and anime. By the end of their conversation, they exchanged phone numbers and promised to stay in touch. After a week of talking and getting to know each other better, they went on their first official date at Michael’s Bistro in Moses Lake on February 22, 2025. Not long after, on March 8, Roberto asked Stefani to be his girlfriend — a day they now celebrate as the true beginning of their relationship. On October 26, 2025, during a visit to Remlinger Farms in Washington, Roberto surprised Stefani with a proposal over lunch. As she shared the many reasons she loved him, Roberto quietly placed a ring box on the table and opened it. Through happy tears, Stefani said yes — marking the beginning of the next chapter of their story.
