Our Story We met in a way we never expected—through an app called OurTime. One evening, while having dinner with a friend, Stefani mentioned she had come across an app designed for older individuals who were still hoping to find love. She was very much on the fence about signing up, but with a little encouragement, she registered for a six-month membership. Just two weeks later, she found Fred. Coincidentally, Fred had joined OurTime as well—and he had only two weeks left on his own six-month membership. Stefani lived in Poughkeepsie, and Fred lived in Clifton Park, so at first, the distance made us a little hesitant. As we talked, however, we quickly realized how much we had in common, and we chose to believe that if it was meant to be, we would make it work. From our very first date to today, laughter has always been at the heart of our relationship. More than two years later, we are still learning about each other and finding comfort, joy, and strength in our love. On October 2, 2025, Fred created a moment we will never forget. He set up a glowing “runway” of lights in Stefani’s backyard that led her to him, standing beneath her father’s grapevines, surrounded by twinkling lights and candles spelling out, “Will you marry me?” Overwhelmed with emotion, Stefani approached the patio unable to speak. Fred then got down on one knee and asked, “Will you marry me, please?” That simple “please” was filled with so much love and sincerity—and, of course, the answer was yes. As we plan our wedding, we are so grateful and happy to have finally found each other—something neither of us thought would happen in our lifetime, yet something we now know was part of God’s plan all along.
