Rachel and Stefan met last Summer at a local restaurant called Smithy's, where Stefan was working as a server. Rachel and her friends were meeting there to celebrate a birthday. She and her friend, Casey, got to the restaurant early to decorate the table. When Stefan approached the table, she immediately thought he was so cute and got really nervous! The rest of the evening their entire party teased her and did whatever they could so that Stefan would come back to the table. At the end of the night the group was taking pictures at the restaurants photo-booth and Andrea Wang snuck away to give Stefan, Rachel's number. Two weeks later Rachel got a text from an unknown number, Stefan, and a few days after that they had their first date!

Rachel's Mom, Linda, was supposed to come to visit her in Santa Barbara but ended up not being able to make it. Stefan suggested that they surprise her and plan a trip to Utah even though they had just been there a month before for Christmas. Linda was sooooo surprised and they had a great trip. They got back to Santa Barbara the day before Valentine's Day. Stefan had to work so Rachel had dinner with a girlfriend. When Stefan was off work, at about 10:30, he called Rachel and said that he was going to stop by because it was their first Valentine's and they should do something special. Rachel was very surprised as Stefan had told her that he thought making such a big deal about Valentine's Day was silly and you should be sweet to each other everyday. Stefan arrived and suggested that they go on a walk to where they used to meet when they first started dating, the Santa Barbara Bowl. When they got there, Stefan got very serious and said that he had lied to Rachel and wanted to know if she could forgive him. Rachel (of course) got so nervous and said that it depended on what he lied about! Stefan then told her that the REAL reason they went to Utah was so that he could talk to her Dad and that he DID talk to her Dad and then before Rachel could fully understand what was happening, he proposed! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
