Morgan went to a classic Covid apartment party. A few friends thought it was a good idea to go to a mutual friend’s apartment, and it was! It was Stefan’s apartment. We met and were instantly interested in one another. Luckily, someone caught our first conversation on video, and we still watch it for a good laugh. After meeting, Morgan moved back to Peoria, IL to finish school, and Stefan and Morgan stayed in casual contact. Casual contact led to Morgan putting a whole lot of miles on her car to drive to Chicago on the weekends to see Stefan.

Saturday, April 8th — a day that seemed much like many others…but there was one thing that was certainly different about that day - it was proposal day. Stefan and Morgan were in the midst of a long weekend at one of their favorite locations, Naples, Florida. They were staying with Stefan’s parents at their home near the beach. To begin the day, Morgan, an avid breakfast lover, asked Stefan what they should do for breakfast. A seemingly common question, but there was one problem - the Urosevics are inherently intermittent fasters and usually eat two meals per day beginning in the afternoon. Stefan proposed his usual that Morgan “fight the hunger,” and the two go for a walk to kill some time. On that walk, Stefan realized he would have a hard time keeping his big secret from Morgan - that Morgan’s parents were in town, and at sunset, Stefan was planning to propose on the beach surrounded by their families. So…Stefan had to create an exit plan for the day so he wouldn't ruin the surprise. If you know Stefan well, you could probably guess his stall tactic for the day was - to work and workout. He spent the rest of the morning working before, much to Morgan’s chagrin, he told her he was going to workout. This is a common flaw of Stefan’s as he picks the “worst times” for his workouts - midday on vacations. Four hours later, he returned, and Morgan asked, “What the hell was that?" as that was his longest workout ever. Little did she know he spent 2.5 hours pacing around the parking lot at the gym because he was nervous about the big moment. Nonetheless, Stefan brushed off Morgan’s suspicions and further inquiries and recommended the two head over to the beach before dinner and have a drink. They made their way there, and everything was proceeding according to plan. They had a few drinks, laughed, and listened to their favorite artist - Morgan Wallen. Meanwhile, the Duesings and Urosevics were making their way to the beach. It was go time… The sun was setting, so Stefan suggested the two walk along the beach. Off they went, and the nerves were really hitting Stefan. Heart pumping and hands clammy, they made it about 8 steps before Stefan stopped, got down on one knee, and asked Morgan to marry him. Morgan responded with a resounding, "YES!" Mission accomplished!
