Dylan and I met February 2018 on Tinder, (sorry mom)! We had an immediate connection but we were both getting through past relationships. Dylan quickly became my best friend, but we both knew there could be more. We texted back and forth for the remainder of my sophomore year at Ball State. February quickly turned into June and I am extremely impatient. Who knew?! Dylan was working at Save-A-Lot in Connersville, Indiana as a stocker. After six months of texting back and forth, I, being impatient, went into the store he still works at to investigate. I was getting answers! I went into the store twice, apparently once was not enough to get his attention. Mind you, I didn't say anything. Rather, I saw Dylan and panicked. The first time I went into the store, I bought milk and I can assure you that we did not need the milk. The second time I went into the store, I bought two bags of carrots. I'm pretty sure those carrots stayed in my car for a hot minute. Clearly, I didn't need them either. If you ask Dylan, he will say that I stalked him. Clearly, it worked! We had our first date the day after on June 6, 2018.
When Dylan and I first met, I told him that I want to be engaged in three years and married in four years. As we have already established, I am extremely impatient but I also like to have everything planned out. I was adamant to stay to this plan. Spoiler alert, I did! Dylan and I have been dating for two and a half years and engaged for six months. Our first anniversary, I wanted to have professional pictures of us taken, and we did. Remember my obsessive planning? I had a friend, Emma, from high school take them and I loved them so much. I just knew that I would schedule pictures every year for the rest of our lives. Dylan being the sweet and considerate man he his, took into consideration that we were having our two year anniversary pictures taken and started his own plan. He had always told me that he would propose after I graduated college and let me tell you, I did not let him forget it. When I didn't see him propose after my graduation or even on my birthday, the impatient part of me was boiling over and I could not handle it anymore. I was convinced that he was not going to propose anytime soon so I stopped asking, for a total of maybe thirty-six hours. Dylan was acting different and rather secretive around my birthday but I didn't read into it. Dylan and I were also in the process of buying our house so I was preoccupied. I had Emma take our two year pictures and during this Dylan proposed! He had set it all up with her ahead of time and I loved the entire proposal! Even if I was thinking "about time!"
