Proposal Story

22.06.19

When we got engaged, the first thing before the typical congrats, was actually mostly the “How did he propose?!” question. Well, we traveled to Peru for our second year anniversary together and... no, the proposal was not at the top of Machu Picchu, as everybody presumes. After a relaxing evening spa, he took me to dinner at Belmond Monastery Hotel, a mysterious creepy place as in terror movies scenes (The Nun). There, we giggled and laughted nonstop thinking of the ways we might get poisoned or kidnaped by those oddly old waiters. It made us feel like we were actually in a monastery, with the opera background music and the silent corridors. After dinner, the waiter took us outside to the inner courtyard, and while Felipe acted as if he didn’t knew what was going on, I kept asking where in earth was the waiter taking us. “It’s happening, he’s taking us to a religious sacrifice!”... and there was when I saw it, the romantic scene set for me in the middle of those creepy corridors surrounding us. And I thought what a freaking surprise for our anniversary! I kept wondering what’s this all about... and at that moment I realized it was something going on. The waiter lifted the plate cover for our elegant dessert and there was a big slice of chocolate written “Marry me?”... And he got on one knee... ❤️
