So many great New Orleans stories begin on the parade route—and for Jackson and Alexis, that’s exactly where theirs started. They were just 14 when they first met, but even then, God kept bringing them back to each other. Over the next few years, their paths crossed again and again—at weekend hangouts, school dances, and everywhere in between. (P.S. Don’t miss the “Gallery” tab for some fun throwback photos from this era!) On March 13, 2020, Jackson finally asked Alexis out. As fate would have it, that very same day, they were both sent home from school… and the world hit pause during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Between virtual classes and hours-long phone calls, Jackson found every excuse to drive to Kenner just to sit on the porch and talk with Alexis for hours. He never showed up empty-handed—always bringing Alexis’s favorites: giant bags of SkinnyPop, dark chocolate, and even the full Harry Potter paperback collection (yes, he set the bar high early on!). And Alexis made sure he knew she was all in—never missing a wrestling match, baking cookies on weekends for Jackson (and his brothers!), and never passing up a chance to cheer him on. As their relationship grew, so did their love for each other’s families. Time with his family meant weekends at the Bay St. Louis house, lots of long walks, and big meals made together in the kitchen. With her family, they never missed a beach trip, traveled to France to celebrate her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary, and quickly became known for getting a little too competitive at game night. From parade routes to porch swings, their story has been filled with laughter, adventure, and faith. Six years later, they’re still each other’s favorite person—and they can’t wait to celebrate this next, most meaningful chapter with all of you.
A few weeks before the proposal, Jackson’s mom, Kelly, invited Alexis to join the family for a birthday dinner celebrating both her and Granny Mo. Of course, Alexis said yes! A day or two later, she mentioned the plans to Jackson and told him to call his mom for the details—never suspecting he already knew exactly what was going on. The dinner just so happened to fall on the same day as Alexis’s cousin Peyton’s baby shower, which she was co-hosting with her sister (who had even flown in from D.C. for the occasion). With her entire family in town, Alexis couldn’t help but feel just a tiny bit annoyed that Jackson wasn’t taking advantage of such a perfect proposal opportunity… or so she thought. After the shower, Alexis headed to her parents’ house to get ready, and Jackson picked her up for what she believed was a simple birthday dinner. Instead, he drove her to the French Quarter and casually mentioned that their reservation had been pushed back, giving them time to take a walk along the river. As they strolled along the Mississippi, Jackson stopped, told Alexis how much he loved her—and got down on one knee. It was the best moment of their lives. And now, they can’t wait for the very best part—getting married!
If you’ve made it this far, thank you—we’re so glad you took a moment to read a little of our story. Each of you has played a special role in shaping us into the people we are today, and we are truly honored and grateful for your love and support. As we prepare for our wedding, we would deeply appreciate your prayers and well wishes. We hope our marriage is even more meaningful than our wedding day, and that we always support and encourage one another to grow into the best versions of ourselves. Please know that we’re keeping all of you—our family and friends—in our thoughts as we count down to this special day. We can’t wait to celebrate together! With love, Alexis and Jackson
