If you plan to fly into LA, plan plenty of time to rent a car or get the shuttle to Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara Airbus is about $100 per person round trip and is an option if you prefer not to rent a car. Keep in mind peak traffic times for getting out of the LA: about 8am-9am and 3pm-6pm. The drive should take 1.5-2 hours at off peak hours. Flying into Santa Barbara is also an option.

Flying into LAX is an easy option from most cities. Santa Barbara is about a 90 minute drive from LAX, plan to arrive before 2pm to avoid traffic getting out of the city
