It's not often you get to say you're going to marry a childhood crush - I guess we're just lucky! We met in 2002 in the 7th grade. Unfortunately for us, half way through the year, Ryan moved away with his family to Merritt Island. It only took a few months of knowing each other to realize we fell in love. On his last day, I hugged him and thought that was the end of our story.

Fast forward 9 years later, where we both found each other again. Ryan found me on facebook and we reconnected have been inseparable since. Ryan always likes to say, "I went to pick Janessa up to stay the weekend, but then she never left."

So here we are now, yes ten years later, engaged. Can you believe it? It was the most unexpected, on the whim proposal. He took me out for a regular date night - just the two of us enjoying the night. After our dinner, we walked around downtown and ended up at the St. Pete Pier for the first time. We walked all the way to the end and stopped to enjoy the beautiful breezy night. We talked about how nice it was that night, then got nostalgic and remembered all of our shared experiences. Ryan tried to find the right words and eventually said he wanted to spend the rest of his life together and asked "Will you marry me?"
