For anyone that knows this couple, it should not be a surprise that they met surrounded by friends and community. It was Christina's housewarming party, having just moved to Boston to start a graduate program at MGH. Kyle had met Christina's roommate while volunteering with Partners in Health. A last-minute almost-midnight invitation and Kyle found himself on his way to the party with the hopes of meeting new people. They talked briefly, discussing their schools and programs. (Kyle remembers. Christina doesn’t.) Twenty-four hours later, Kyle sent a facebook friend request. A few weeks later, they met again at a group dinner, talking all night. A week later, they had their first date at JP Licks. Five years later, they had a pandemic mini-wedding and on August 28th, they’ll get to celebrate their relationship — surrounded by the friends and community that helped bring them together.
