We met on the dating site OKCupid. Trevor's profile said he was a science nerd. Mine said I loved talking about aliens. In his first message, Trevor forwent the classic "Hey hot stuff" line and instead opened with, "Which conspiracy theories do you subscribe to?" I was hooked. A week later, we agreed to meet for Mexican food. Our first date lasted six hours and we've been side by side ever since. Mexican food is still our favorite.
We started dating in August 2016 and quickly settled into a weekend routine, bouncing back and forth between Alabaster and Vestavia. Two years later, Trevor moved into my apartment. That December, we got the wacky idea to buy a house. We fell in love with our home but lost it in a bidding war. In February, to our surprise, we won it back. On April 4, 2019, we closed on our home. Milo, DeeDee and Mandark came with us.
Like many times before, Trevor yelled "Hey come look at this!", which is usually my cue to find him in his office, peering into his microscope, marveling at a micro particle that I just HAVE to see. On June 30, 2019, he insisted I sit down to take a look. I observed a fuzzy slide. It looked like nothing, but as I turned the knob, the words 'Will you marry me?' appeared. It was the coolest slide he's ever showed me.
