On June 21st, 2022 Chris & I got married on the rocky beaches of Copper Harbor, MI surrounded by our closest family and friends. Creating a small and intimate day was important to us as well as bringing our family and friends up north to experience one of our favorite places to travel to. Chris has been going to Copper Harbor since he was a child and we started visiting together over the last 3 years. We started the week with a welcome dinner at Harbor Haus the evening before the wedding to kickoff spending this special time together. We enjoyed lovely food with a view of the harbor, as well as got to watch a bald eagle fly over and the wait staff dance for the incoming Isle Royale ferry. As the fog came rolling in we took some pictures along their famous dock. The day of the wedding our friends and family gathered at a private section of Agate Beach. Marla made us an isle out of the rust colored rocks. We walked down the path to have our wedding officiated by Britt. Having a friend that has known the two of you as individuals and as a couple officiate your wedding was special in so many ways and I highly recommend it for everyone! After the ceremony we went to some of our favorite places for photos. My sister, Sarah, did all of our photography. Weddings are already tricky to shoot, but then to shoot for your little sister is always a fun time (especially when you ask her to come to the middle of nowhere to the lands of bugs and cliffs). We very much appreciate the work and effort she put in as well as surviving the ticks! We all gathered at a house we rented on the top of Brockway Mountain to spend time together and eat a wonderful dinner created by Britt & MaryJane! They cooked some of our favorites such as whole roast chicken and local fish as well as locally grown sides and bread baked by our friend Sabrina. At the end of the of the evening we ran to the top of Brockway Mountain to enjoy the sunset and take pictures. They don't make sunsets like that everyday and we were lucky to have the perfect one to close out our Summer Solstice wedding. After our time in Copper Harbor we honeymooned backpacking around Grand Island.
