In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, they met on Hinge (the popular dating app). They chatted for a few weeks and then went out to drinks at Barrio, a restaurant in River North. They hit it off, talking about their favorite spots in Chicago and memories from IU, and actually closed down the place, but that wasn’t too hard since it closed at 10pm during COVID. They continued talking, and shortly after the first date, they actually BOTH caught COVID. They continued growing their bond over texting and FaceTime, until they could meet up again!

Nick arranged a date night including a pre-dinner drink at LondonHouse in Chicago. He was acting nervous for most of the day, adamant on going to a rooftop bar in the rain and listening to music while getting ready instead of his usual sports games or podcasts. When they arrived at the Cupola at LondonHouse, it was set up with champagne and rose petals, and Nick popped the question! They spent time taking photos at LondonHouse and celebrating privately with just the two of them atop the 21st floor Cupola. Then they returned to Barrio, their very first date location, where Nick had arranged his family, Morgan’s family, and their friends to surprise Morgan and celebrate with them. It was the perfect day.
