From Nathan: Ours is definitely the start of a 21st century love story. More and more people seem to be finding love online, and we are among those stories. It was near the end of June and I sent the first of many ice breakers on eHarmony to this very cute woman from Sioux Falls. It was pretty apparent that we were clicking from the start. For those that know me, you know that I am a big movie buff. And I found a woman that loves movies too. We chatted on eHarmony, then it moved to Facebook Messenger, text messages, and Snapchat. Of course talking over the internet was nice, but at some point we should probably meet. I don’t remember the date but I do remember it was a Thursday. Sarah was not having her best day, at least until I showed up. I got off work early enough that I suggested that we meet somewhere. She was reluctant, as any smart person should be when meeting a person from online. But we did met at Ruby Tuesday’s, her favorite restaurant. I knew I was nervous and I’m sure she was too. But we hit it off, and the rest they say…is history. I like to think of it a different way though, and think of it as the beginning of something quite special and beautiful.
From Nathan: I knew pretty quickly that Sarah was the one. I’d be a fool to let someone as kind and caring and sweet as Sarah go. I had looked at a couple places for an engagement ring, with a couple of Sarah’s friends. And I found one, and I had to hold on to this secret for a while. I’m usually bad at keeping secrets, and Sarah knows that. I had decided on the day and the place, but not the time. As the day grew closer, more people knew. And of course I worried that somehow Sarah would find out, like for example when a credit card statement that said “jewelry” on the label arrived in the mail. So I decided on July, it was be after I ran the Tough Mudder. And I kept telling myself I need to get through this event, and the proposal was my reward. My parents and Sarah were there to cheer me on. And I made it. We went to a restaurant downtown and to a bar arcade where we ran into some other Mudders. The night was almost over but one thing remained, so right when we got back I told Sarah I had a surprise for her. She sat down on the couch in our room, I told her to close her eyes. I got the ring from the poorly concealed hiding spot. And I dropped to one knee and asked her if she would marry me. As you can see she said yes.
