Kate was visiting her matron of honor, Laura, in Tampa while on break from touring. It was a heartfelt conversation about love that only best friends can have that prompted Kate to start a Bumble profile. She was hesitant but also figured "why not." After about an hour of scrolling through duds she saw David and loved everything about his profile. David had already "matched" with Kate on the app and they immediately hit it off chatting. David insisted they meet that night for a date, even after Kate mentioned she didn't live in Tampa and was touring. Kate knew instantly this was the man that would support her career and support her in love with a statement like that. The couple met in person at GIN JOINT and shared cocktails, live music, and conversation. By the end of the evening they knew they wanted to be a couple. Through "double long-distance" living (with Kate living in Chicago at the time and also touring) they found time to see each other whenever possible. After a year, they decided to close the distance and Kate moved full time to Tampa. They love their life with their dogs, Dingo (she passed away February 3 2021) and Juneau, and David proposed (very sneakily at HIS birthday dinner) on August 18, 2020.
