How We Met

2015

B & D ---Like any classic love story, we officially met and became friends during our high school years. Our mutual friends, one being Daniel's sister is what ultimately brought us together. As we began to hangout more through our friends, we started becoming especially fond of each other. We made each other laugh, smile, anxious, and eventually we just clicked. As time went on, our feelings grew but we were still holding ourselves at bay. Through this, we found the guts to break through a few friend barriers and went to Brenda's senior prom together. We were so close to having our first kiss at the end of that night, but our younger brothers, Gary and Lino were sitting in the truck staring as we stood outside in the headlights trying to say our "goodbyes". Needless to say, that would have been awkward. We put our feelings back at bay for a while, but they eventually resurfaced, and at that point we were hooked. And again like any classic couple in Mountainair we soon had our first kiss at the famous hangout spot the "Island". Four years in, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

June 30th 2021

D ---Ah the proposal! So two months prior to popping the question I was hanging out with my boys and I had the urge to tell them. First I told my brother Lino, next I told my buddies, Chandler, Wyatt, and Ricky. Then after months of contemplating on how to tell her brother and father, I finally took the leap of faith in deciding that they might not say no if I ask, so I did. A few months after telling all the guys, they all agreed to have my back when searching for the "rock", then we all set off and found our way to Kay's where we found *gollum voice* "precious". B ---Now, come to proposal day, aka our 4 year anniversary, I already had my suspicions that Daniel was going to propose. I remember the day before "THE day" we had just parked at the Mustang Diner to grab some food. Daniel, being the gentleman that he is, got down to pay and get the food while I stayed warm in the car. It was only a few seconds after he left that I started thinking about how "I couldn't believe that we were going to be together for 4 years already." Then my mind quickly floated to the idea of us getting married soon which then took me into a rabbit hole of ideas and suspicions that he would be proposing to me soon. To capture the moment just to prove if I was right, I took a picture on Snapchat and captioned it "I have suspicions that Daniel is going to propose but idk. I don't have time to type much so I'll quickly put down why I think so. Chandler, Nails with mommy, my dad being weird/sad, Daniel freaking out about what we are both wearing tomorrow. Dear future Brenda: If not, don't get your hopes up 😂 you're an over thinker, remember that." Back to the proposal, we had just spent the day eating out and watching "Fast and Furious 9: For Family" in which we couldn't stop laughing at throughout the entire movie. Finally on our way home, we started getting closer and closer to town and I was noticing that Daniel seemed a bit anxious/off which made me very nervous but excited. I didn't know for sure, but then he asks me to close my eyes as we drove out to my family's land out of town which he played off as if there was a gift out there for me. D ---Little did she know I gathered up some of our immediate family members and had them arrive there before we got there, so they could witness the entire thing. B ---He had so many sweet and heart-throbbing things to say and unknowingly to him I had already said yes in my head a long time ago. D ---To wrap it all up she made me the happiest man alive by making it official and saying "yes" to being my wife.
