Love was in the air on the summer Saturday of 6/5/10 at the romantic Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ for an XTU country music concert. As I was hanging out at our very classy tailgate, our mutual friends introduced me to Megan. Her beautiful eyes and adorable smile immediately caught my attention and I quickly had a new reason for being in Camden that day. While everyone knows how much I love country music and can absolutely name multiple musicians, my focus for the day had just shifted dramatically. As I spent the day vying for her time with her dozens of friends, I eventually made enough of an impression, and summoned the courage, to ask for her phone number. Not long after getting this valuable information, I left the venue to head home without ever having entered the concert; two missions accomplished. I played it calm, cool and collected waiting about eighteen minutes to send the well thought out, carefully worded “Hi Megan this is Mike from the tailgate” text message. I have always had a way with words. Luckily for me, Megan eventually decided to respond to that text, and after some back and forth banter that I am sure came off as smoothly to her as it did in my head, she agreed to go on a date with me. The rest... is history.
It all started in the classy Campbell’s parking lot in Camden, NJ during a summer XTU country concert (first picture on our photo page). I was going into my senior year of high school and Michael was going into his sophomore year at Penn State. My friends and I were walking when we ran into Michael and his friends where a mutual friend introduced us to each other. I remember thinking wow he’s tall… and cute. After talking for a while he eventually asked for my number and a few days later he asked me on a date. Where did he take me? Outback, of course, so he could indulge in endless bread and loaded fries. For the next few years we randomly went on dates but never officially considered ourselves a couple. We finally decided to give the whole relationship thing a try the end of my senior year of college when we’d soon both be on the same page in the working world. After college I moved to Manhattan and a year later Michael moved to Brooklyn. Summer of 2018 we decided to move and start our lives together in Philadelphia. Since then we've traveled around the country and world together, adopted our sweet snuggly pup Copper, bought a house, and started to build a life together. It may have taken us several years but eventually we realized that we belonged together. I couldn’t imagine my life without Michael and am beyond excited to start this next chapter of life together as husband and wife!!!
