Laura and JR have a property along the lush, wooded Pithlachascotee ‘Cotee’ River with two pavilions and connecting boardwalks. This 4.9 acres of land was once owned by the Cotee River Lions Club, who built the structures for their fundraising pancake breakfasts and to create a nature walk for the blind. It is now being restored as a special event facility, beginning with this wedding! Also on the property are a workshop for JR’s woodworking enterprise, a few campsites, restrooms and a home the couple shares.
All our organized events including the wedding and reception will be outdoors. Please come fully vaccinated and prepared to wear a mask and be mindful of distancing, so we can keep each other safe and be generally considerate of those among us who may be vulnerable to serious illness.
The ceremony and reception are outdoors but under covered pavilions. Please watch the weather forecast and dress for the predicted conditions. Temperatures run about 5 degrees cooler than the Tampa forecast.
A range from cocktail to more casual dressy is suggested. Women can wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, or jackets and slacks. If you choose to wear heels, low- or wedge-style heels are suggested since the ceremony and reception will be on a raised boardwalk and pavilion. Men can wear casual suits, with or without a tie. Kick it up a notch - it's a wedding! But wear what feels comfortable. Everyone should be ready to dance!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If it does not, we would prefer if it was just you. Of course, do not feel obligated to bring a guest. Flying solo is fun too!
We love your children - we really do. But we want our wedding weekend to be your time off!
