Due to COVID19, we've postponed our wedding to August 21, 2020 and have switched venues. The new venue is Wrightsville Manor and both ceremony and reception will be held outside here. Our website has been updated to reflect the changes.

Shelby and Casey have known each other since middle school and shared a lot of mutual friends growing up. They became friends in the summer of 2011 and spent the summer days hanging out and enjoying concerts with their friends in Charlotte and Raleigh. The two both moved to Wilmington for college in 2012 where they enjoyed beach days and local breweries and eventually took their relationship to the next level.

Casey and I had been talking about getting engaged for awhile, but he would always say “we need to buy a house first”. Little did I know, that was his plan to throw me off so I would be completely surprised when he did ask! On Thanksgiving 2019, Casey went to my parents house (I had to stay in ILM to work) and asked my parents for their blessing. He also already had the ring! So for the next few weeks, Casey hid the ring in his golf bag until one Wednesday evening. We had plans to go to dinner and Airlie Enchanted, a walk thru Christmas light show. We arrived to Airlie Enchanted and walked thru the whole event in about 45 minutes and then I was ready to leave. Casey kept insisting that we go back to the “big oak tree” even though I couldn’t figure out why because we already saw it. Once we were standing beside the tree, Casey got down on one knee! I couldn’t even tell you what he said, I was so surprised and over the moon. Casey also had hired a photographer who had been following us the whole time, waiting to capture the proposal!
