We met on Match.com when Amy was living in Vermont and Brian was living in New Hampshire. After exchanging emails we decided it was time to meet up. Amy picked the location which happened to be at a cafe halfway between the 2 of us. We both drove through mountain ranges in the pouring rain for this first date and it was so worth it! That first date was full of improvisation. The restaurant Amy chose was closed when we got there but Brian jumped into action. He ran across the street before Amy had arrived, grabbed a bottle of wine and a bag full of snacks. This was after all rural Vermont and there was no telling how far away the next open restaurant was! We took our chances, Amy jumped in the car with Brian and only second guessed that decision once after he blew through a stop sign. We ended up finding dinner (25 minutes away!) and thus began 6 months of mountain pass road trips to see one another!
