The Welcome Party on Friday night is cocktail attire. Our wedding is black tie. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are most appropriate and preferred. Please avoid white, champagne, or off-white colors. We encourage you to wear whatever makes you feel your best while honoring the occasion.

Will Transportation be Provided?

Answer

Because all hotel blocks—the Cavalier Hotel, Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and Embassy Suites—are within easy walking distance of the venue, we will not be providing additional transportation. Valet and limited self-parking are available at the Cavalier.

Parking

Answer

Valet parking is available at the main entrance of the hotel, and limited self-parking is offered nearby. Guests staying at one of our reserved hotel blocks—the Cavalier Hotel, the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront, or the Embassy Suites by Hilton—will find that all properties are within easy walking distance of the venue. Parking may be included with your hotel reservation; we recommend confirming with the front desk upon arrival.

What Time Should We Arrive?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. We recommend arriving 15 to 30 minutes early to allow time for parking (if not staying in one of the nearby hotel blocks) , seating, and to ensure a smooth and relaxed start to the celebration.

Can I Bring a Plus One?

Answer

Can I bring a plus one? Unfortunately, we have limited space for our celebrations and simply can’t accommodate all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask all other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy a well-deserved evening out.

Will the Ceremony and Reception Be Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the cocktail hour will be held outdoors (weather permitting). The ceremony will be held in the Sunken Garden, and the immediate cocktail hour will be held on the Great Lawn. The reception will be held inside the hotel in The Crystal Ballroom. Virginia Beach weather can be fickle! Please keep an eye out for the forecast as the date approaches to pack accordingly.

If you are flying in, the closest airport is Norfolk International (ORF). From the airport, follow signs to I-64 East toward Virginia Beach. Merge onto I-264 East and continue for approximately 12 miles. Take the exit for Birdneck Road, turn left onto Birdneck Road, then turn right onto Laskin Road. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Atlantic Avenue. The Cavalier Hotel will be on your left. This drive typically takes 25 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic. If you are driving from Richmond, take I-64 East toward Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Continue following signs for I-264 East and merge onto the interstate. Take the exit for Birdneck Road, turn left onto Birdneck Road, then turn right onto Laskin Road. Turn left onto Atlantic Avenue, and the hotel will be on your left. The drive takes approximately 2 hours.
