Secrets Resort requires all wedding guests to stay at the resort. Pre-negotiated discounted rooms are available at a first-come-first-serve basis. The purchase of your room includes a Junior Suite with an ocean-front vista. The hotel is all inclusive, meaning all meals, beverages (including alcoholic), entertainment, concierge, and room service are included. Each room has a hairdryer, robe, makeup mirror, iron, and is fully stocked with a mini bar each day. Flights, additional nights, and other additions are extra. Contact Cheryl Waterman for pricing and availability. She is managing the block of room and can answer any questions you have about your trip. Many have asked about booking travel on sites such as Travelocity or Expedia. Many of these are not all inclusive and may limit your access to wedding events. Many are also the same price after taxes and fees. AAA is also offering travel insurance in case you need to cancel.
We are working with a group travel agent through AAA. You may contact Cheryl Waterman via email or cell phone at waterman.cheryl@aaa-calif.com or 760-635-4023. She will work with everyone individually to book the airline and hotel room at Secrets.

We do not know what the impact of Covid-19 will be in May. Currently there are many special protocols in place. The hotel is operating at 50% capacity and has enhanced cleaning procedures in place. Airports and airlines have also instituted enhanced precautions to slow the spread and keep everyone as safe as possible while they travel. Covid-19 Restrictions and Guidelines are continuously changing so we recommend checking government websites for USA and Mexico for entry requirements, along with the airlines for anything they may require in addition to government mandates.
We are dedicated to have our wedding in Puerto Vallarta regardless of the current state of Covid-19 in May. Guests are welcome to attend regardless, but may use their own judgement and discretion when traveling. We know you will make the best decision for yourselves and we will be understanding of whatever you decide.
Yes, AAA has many types of travel insurance. Rates vary depending on policies and Cheryl is happy to give you a quote during your booking process.
Nestled on the Pacific Ocean, Puerta Vallarta has a variety of activities to choose from such as food tours, ATV tours, snorkeling, and canopy tours. You can book individual excursions with Cheryl Waterman as well. Additionally, the hotel has daily group activities available to all guests for no additional charge. These may include coastal fishing, yoga, paddle boarding, open water sports, nighttime concerts, poolside Zumba, beach walks, horse shoes, water aerobics, dart tournaments, water volleyball, and basketball shooting tournaments. Secrets has a gym that is currently open and operating. Furthermore, you can enjoy the spa (for an extra fee you can get access to massages, a steam room, or hydrotherapy), tennis court, and swim-up bar.
Besides warm-weather clothes and plenty of swimsuits, it may be a good idea to bring a nice outfit for dinner, as some restaurants request nicer attire. Women may want to bring a dress, skirt and shirt (no tank tops), blouse or leather sandals. Men may want to bring long pants, a collared shirt, and dress shoes. For casual/elegance dress codes, dress shorts, capris, and leather sandals are also acceptable. If you are planning on going on a canopy tour, closed-toe shoes and lightweight pants (that you don't mind getting dirty) would be the best option.

At the Puerto Vallarta airport, avoid all of the vendors as you exit the plane and go through customs. If you are comfortable, you can catch a taxi out front of the airport. Instead, if you're up for some adventure, try walking out of the resort and down the street before catching a taxi. Please be safe and have good judgment when outside the resort.
