Stanley and Camillia met in college at Hampton University in 2009. Camillia first caught Stanley's eye in the W.E.B Dubois dormitory during a book sale. Stanley sold her roommate the wrong book. The next time Camillia saw Stanley, she asked him for a refund. Upon returning the book, they exchanged phone numbers. One day their mutual friend spilled the tea and said Stanley was interested. Little did they know their friendship would flourish into becoming more than friends. After they graduated from college, they went their separate ways. In 2016 they rekindled their friendship. Stanley was finishing Medical School at Howard University, and Camillia started her first semester of graduate school at NC A&T. Stanley visited Camillia for the Greatest Homecoming On Earth (GHOE). At that time, Camillia was a graduate hall director. She decided that she would give him a tour of the campus. Afterwards, they went to Tate's Craft Cocktail in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They talked for hours. Then they went to a salsa club and danced the night away. Before they knew it, they spoke more and more, and their friendship quickly grew into a strong and caring love. Despite the distance, their love grew stronger each day, and they made countless trips back and forth to see each other. They were given opportunities to learn about each other and have grown as individuals and as a couple. Sustaining a long-distance relationship takes tremendous strength and dedication. As if the long distance wasn't hard enough, Covid-19 made it more interesting. They felt from the beginning that God brought them together and had a plan for their future. On June 25, 2021, Stanley surprised Camillia with a photoshoot and proposed. Stanley and Camillia are excited to celebrate their love story with their closest friends and family on June 3, 2023!
