Alex was in town on a 4 day work trip. As one does, we matched on Hinge. Alex and I were mutually drawn to each other over our love of the Northeast and Hawaii. He was living in Hawaii, and I was in D.C., we knew it would be a low risk date. If we weren't feeling it, we would never have to see each other again, and be able to return to our respective corners of the world. We decided, despite our long distance, to go on a date. We met on a Wednesday night at Tiki Thai. And the rest is history.
I knew the day was coming soon but couldn't be certain. Alex is not so subtle when he has a surprise. Needless to say, he knows me well and kept the moment private and romantic all in one. I was still in my pajamas. At around 7 am he shared the journal entry he wrote after the night we met and a second entry after he decided he was going to propose. On his knees, with a ring pop in hand, and a diamond ring to follow, he asked. It was the easiest "Yes" of my life. We are so excited to share our special day with all of you at Haiku Gardens in Hawaii on March 1, 2024.
