We tied the knot - please celebrate with us at our wedding reception & housewarming!

We had a couple of friends who kept hinting to both of us that we should meet, and it finally happened almost six years ago. They introduced us at their house party in Austin, and we really hit it off! We dated casually for a while, having some really good times and sharing a lot of laughs - we definitely bring out the best in each other. The relationship gradually grew more serious, and we spent more and more time together until Erin was accepted to graduate school and moved to north Texas. It was tough to be apart, and we spent a lot of time driving between Denton and Austin - which made us realize that we couldn't live without each other!

We hated being separated, so I moved back to Austin, and we made plans for the future. We had both sold our houses and wanted to put Chris's builder skills and my designer skills to use building our own house on the piece of land Chris had purchased. On the day Chris's house sale closed, he coaxed me out to the lot to "do some measuring" for the position of the new house. It was a gorgeous day, and I must admit that I had a strong preference for poolside relaxation - but Chris prevailed. I whipped out the tape measure and got busy, and Chris soon directed my attention to on particular tree. On it hung something sparkly - an engagement ring! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and of course I said "Yes!" We sat under a huge live oak tree and toasted our engagement with wine and a little picnic - what a pleasant surprise and happy day! That tree now has a place of honor in front of the new house...

Since we're in the process of building a house and have a lot on our plates, we decided to elope! We got married in the meditation garden at the Hotel Galvez in Galveston, Texas on Friday evening, October 20th. It was just us, a minister, a photographer, and two witnesses - but all of you were with us in spirit that night. The next day, we left on a cruise for our honeymoon to Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel - it was a new experience for both of us that we really enjoyed! We're excited to celebrate our marriage and new home with all of our friends and family!
