On April 3rd, 2021, Sidney was hired to sing the National Anthem at a professional rugby game. Not knowing much about rugby, she sang her heart out… and left at halftime! Little did she know, that wouldn’t be her last rugby game. A mutual contact from the team had connected Sidney and Stan after the game, and upon seeing her instagram story and realizing Sid is who sang the anthem that weekend, he wasted no time starting up a conversation — and quickly asked her out. After a few scheduling mishaps (Stan canceled the first date, Sid canceled the second), third time really was the charm. On April 19th, they finally met for lunch at Cactus Cantina, shared photos of their adorable nieces and nephews, took a walk through the National Cathedral gardens, and ended the afternoon people-watching and laughing for hours. The next month was full of fun dates and long talks, and they made it official over Memorial Day weekend — after Sid met some of Stan’s UK friends (shoutout to Tom and Holly!) and passed the vibe check. Over the next 4½ years, they cheered each other on at music performances and games, traveled to new places, and built a wonderful circle of friends who’ve become like family in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Then, on June 20th, 2025, Stan proposed to Sidney at one of their favorite spots, Comus Inn. With the help of their best friends Mel and Chicken — and their friend and amazing secret photographer, Margaret — they celebrated their engagement with happy tears, laughter, and of course, a drinks with a view. A few months later, on October 24th, 2025, Sid and Stan tied the knot in a private ceremony at Christ Episcopal Church of Rockville. Now, they’re beyond excited to celebrate their love *again* — this time surrounded by all their friends and family — on their one-year anniversary in fall 2026, in Sid’s home state of Florida!
