Ryan was born in Tampa, FL. Ryan went to Clemson for a bachelor's in Physics, with minors in Environmental Engineering and Mathematics. After undergrad, Ryan attended LSU for a Master's in Medical Physics. He then completed a residency in Temple, TX. After residency, Ryan moved to Lubbock, TX where he soon met Emily on Coffee Meets Bagel. Ryan decided to meet Emily because he really wanted to meet her cat, Penny, who is extremely fluffy and totally precious. Ryan would like to add that he likes cats.

Emily is from Houston, TX, but lived in Lake Charles, LA, for 6 years. While attending Texas Tech, Emily majored in Mathematics, with a minor in French. After finishing her bachelor's, she began a Master's, also in Mathematics. During the summer of her first year of grad school, Emily met Ryan on Coffee Meets Bagel, a dating app. While communicating through text, Emily began to fall in love with Ryan and how patient and understanding he is. Once they met, they were inseparable and spent as much time together as they could.
