In 2017 we met at 230 Rolfe Road, AKA the Doghouse. Although devoid of a gleaming interior, the people you can find there are a treasure unto themselves. In the waning songs of an ultimate frisbee party, we struck up conversation and immediately felt a connection. Over the subsequent months, we fell for each other. Despite words of caution from our level-headed friends, we made a commitment to each other despite Jack’s impending graduation. After Jack moved to Richmond, Zoe became very familiar with the speed traps along I-64. Jack did not. From there, our relationship continued to grow. Life threw more than a couple curveballs our way, as we navigated loss of loved ones, grim cancer diagnoses, and a global pandemic. But here we are! We are so grateful to each other and to all of our loved ones that have supported us on this journey.
