Things To Do

Nashville is a fun place to visit, so in addition to attending our wedding, we hope you can enjoy the city! Here are a variety of attractions and activities to check out. Many are within walking distance or a short ride from the Virgin Hotel. If you're planning to rent a car, there are some spots outside of downtown that are worth checking out.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

222 Rep. John Lewis Way South, Nashville, TN 37203

If you love all things country music, this may be the destination for you. The museum offers exhibitions, events, and kids’ programs at the Taylor Swift Education Center.

Frist Art Museum

919 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

The Frist is our little art museum. It's a great activity, especially if you want to spend a few hours looking at art and enjoying air conditioning.

Nashville Tours

Nashville offers a variety of themed tours, including historic, bar crawls, ghost stories, country music legends, and food. You can even find a history tour that includes a bar crawl.

National Museum of African American Music

510 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

This museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the many music genres created, influenced, and inspired by African Americans.

Honky Tonk Highway

501 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

Nashville's honky tonks play live music from 10am to 3am, and you can listen for free. Broadway is party central at night and not too crowded during the day.

Listening Room Cafe - Nashville

618 4th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37210

The Listening Room features up-and-coming and well known songwriters performing songs you’ve probably heard on the radio. In between songs, they share stories about their writing and inspiration. It’s a very unique Nashville experience!

Ryman Auditorium

116 5th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37219

You don’t have to go far to hear great live music in Nashville, and visiting the Ryman is a great place to start. The historic music venue offers a variety of tours and concerts.

Centennial Park

2500 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203

Centennial is a beautiful city park that is not far from Downtown Nashville. It's a great place to take a stroll, people watch, or have a picnic. You can also check out the Parthenon, Nashville's full-scale replica of the Athenian original (Athens is Nashville's sister city). You can tour the inside of the Parthenon for a small fee.

Nashville Soccer Club

Nashville’s pro team offers a fun night out. Catch a game at our new stadium, Geodis Park. Nashville Soccer Club is an American professional soccer club based in Nashville, Tennessee. The team began playing in Major League Soccer in 2020.

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

The Nashville Zoo is a fun trip for the family and animal lovers alike. Some crowd favorites are the red pandas, clouded leopard, and the kangaroos.

Cheekwood Gardens

1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37205

Love flowers and history? Check out Cheekwood, a 1930s estate, with a historic mansion and 55 acres of cultivated gardens. Walk around the gardens, and see if you can find the turtles in the pond. You can also tour the mansion and learn more about the family who once called Cheekwood home. Tickets are timed entry, so we recommend purchasing them online. Also of note, Brad proposed to Hannah at Cheekwood :).

Warner Parks

7311 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221

One of our favorite spots to get outside, the Warner Parks is a beautiful park system 9 miles from downtown that's great for walking, hiking, and picnics.

Bells Bend Park

4187 Old Hickory Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37218

A beautiful rural preserve with easy walking trails and views of the river and local wildlife. Brad and I enjoy meandering down the trails and enjoying the view of the river.

Long Hollow Gardens

2064 Long Hollow Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066

Long Hollow Gardens is a beautiful winery outside of Nashville and a good option if you want to go further afield. They have cute sheep living on the property and lawn games. Food is not available for purchase, so make sure to bring your favorite snacks.

Fall Creek Falls State Park

2009 Village Camp Road, Spencer, TN 38585

If you are looking for a beautiful day trip, check out Fall Creek Falls, one of Tennessee’s biggest and most visited state parks. Here you will find beautiful hikes and waterfalls.
