Q&A

The Wedding Website of Kelly Olson and Colin Staley
Here is a helpful Q&A to help you get ready for an amazing time in Cabo San Lucas!
Question

Do I Need a Passport?

Answer

Yes, since this is an international wedding, everyone traveling to Mexico will need a valid passport. If you already have a passport, be sure to double check the expiration date as it is required to be valid for 6+ months past your travel dates. If you do not already have a passport, it is a good idea to apply early to be sure you receive it in time for your trip. Passports normally take 4-6 weeks to process. We suggest applying a minimum of 3 months in advance as a precaution. Note, passport books are valid for international air travel, passport cards are only applicable for land travel.

Question

When Is the RSVP Deadline?

Answer

February 24th is the RSVP deadline as well as the deadline for booking via the resort room block code.

Question

Do I Need to RSVP?

Answer

Yes. Whether you are able to attend or not, please RSVP. If we do not receive your RSVP by February 24th, it will automatically be marked as "No" as we must provide a total guest count to the resort in a timely manner. Please reach out to us if you encounter problems with the online RSVP so we can help!

Question

Do I Have to Stay at the Resort?

Answer

Yes, due to the resort being secured and not open to the public, those who do not have room reservations at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach would not have access. We thoughtfully chose this resort and love that it is all-inclusive with extensive amenities to make this a meaningful stay for everyone.

Question

When Should I Book My Room?

Answer

We recommend booking your room as soon as you know you'll be joining us, but no later than February 24th! There are a set amount of Junior Suite, Executive Suites and Super Executive Suite rooms reserved for our guests at the room block discounted rate. Booking early is the best way to ensure you get the room type and dates you want.

Question

When Should I Arrive in Cabo?

Answer

We recommend arriving by at least Friday May 24th to give yourself time to settle in and enjoy the resort before the welcome event on Saturday evening. Note, if you apart of the wedding party the ceremony rehearsal will take place Saturday afternoon.

Question

How Long Should I Stay in Cabo?

Answer

We recommend arriving no later than the evening of Friday May 24th and leaving no earlier than Monday May 27th. We have wedding events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday but will have optional excursions available for the surrounding days and encourage you to enjoy time with us at the pool or beach if you'd like to extend your vacation longer! Colin & Kelly will be at the resort from Thursday May 23 -Tuesday May 28th.

Question

Which Airport to Fly Into?

Answer

ARRIVAL AIRPORT: Los Cabos Mexico International Airport (SJD) AIRPORT ARRIVAL TIP: Once you get through baggage claim and customs, you will walk past many persistent vendors and timeshare sales people. Simply walk past them and continue walking until you are outside. If you have pre-booked transportation, look for a representative holding their company sign with your name on it and have your booking confirmation handy. FLIGHT BOOKING TIPS: As our guests are coming from various locations, we recommend you choose the airline that is of the best value to you based on your departing location. Hopper is a great app that helps predict flight prices and recommends when you should book or hold off for a lower price! Southwest flights for May 2024 will not be released until October 2023. Note, Southwest is hidden from Hopper and any other price comparison platforms. For any airline, remember to check for baggage fees. Most airlines charge separate fees while others bake them into their price.

Question

How to Get to the Resort from the Airport?

Answer

We recommend booking: AIRPORT TRANSFER THROUGH IMAPALA TRANSPORTATION: Please open the below lin: https://bit.ly/3Ho3ffI What you will see inside the website: You will see the wedding company’s information, our phone numbers and emails in case somebody needs to reach us, and the transportation prices. To insert their reservation, guests must follow these steps: Click: “Guest List” Click: “Add your information” Click: “submit” The resort is approximately a 45 minute drive from SJD airport with private vehicle. If selecting the shuttle there may be a few additional stops.

Question

Will the Ceremony & Reception Be Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. Please note that the ceremony and reception will not take place directly on the beach, so no need to worry about sand.
