Owen and I have known each other for years as we both attended Hawley High School and Hawley Lutheran Church. It wasn't until 9th grade that I thought he was cute and sought him out! I got up the guts and asked him to homecoming. His response? "Sure". He then proceed to go home and look up my name in the yearbook! But after that, the rest is history. We fell in love, became high school sweethearts, and the people you know today!
Owen and I had been talking about getting engaged this past summer so we both knew that it was likely going to happen at some point. One evening, I mentioned that I had wished to go down to Dee's Drive-In in Barnesville for ice cream. We decided to go and fulfill that wish. After getting ice cream, he said he wanted to go and look at fields. Therefore, we went the "back way" home. We pulled up to the top of a hill that had a nice view of our area. I said that it was a beautiful spot and he agreed. I proceeded to look out the window and when I turned back around, Owen was holding the ring and said, "How about it, Megs?". I said, yes of course! and made him pull over to put the ring on and for a hug and kiss! Now we are engaged and planning our wedding!
