What is there to do in Salado?

Answer

If you have the time, we highly recommend making a long weekend out of it! In a perfect world, come to Austin on Thursday and join us for a sunset cruise around the city that evening. Then, stay in Austin for a night and explore everything the city has to offer. The JW Marriott and Fairmont Austin are two of our favorite hotels! From there, head up to Salado for the wedding weekend. Salado is a charming little town with great shopping, antique stores, local restaurants, wineries, and plenty of places to explore. Be sure to check out our "Things to Do" tab for some of our favorite spots!

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Yes! We highly recommend renting a car. Salado is about an hour from Austin, and as they say, everything is bigger in Texas! Having a car will make it much easier to get to Salado, explore Austin, and enjoy everything Central Texas has to offer during your stay.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is Black Tie Optional! Think elegant and festive, with a little Texas flair. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are welcome, but a dark suit or cocktail dress is perfectly appropriate too. And when in doubt, bring your boots! 🤠

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. That said, we would love for your whole family to come to town and enjoy a weekend in Central Texas! Salado and the surrounding area are very family-friendly, with plenty of fun things to do with kids while you’re here.
