When Tyler saw Riley, he knew he had to win her over and grab her attention in the most romantic way possible. A swipe! Once they connected, they were inseparable. So inseparable in fact, that although they had just met, they decided to make things official a week later. Every moment was spent together, which meant Tyler drove to and from Dallas every day just to spend time with Riley. Rain or shine. Clear skies or "Snowmageddon." They would be together! Sharing Spotify albums, decorating each other's rooms, learning two-person card games, scoping out hotel hot tubs, eating gas station roller dogs, and picturing what it would be like to spend forever together. After a couple months had gone by, Tyler decided to give up an opportunity to travel to a new city for his job, so he could stay in Dallas with Riley as she was wrapping up nursing school. This meant signing a year lease on an apartment together just three months after their first date and adopting a kitten named Ramsay who would quickly learn to love their dog Hasty. A year later, Tyler's job would move him to Phoenix, AZ, and Riley, having just graduated nursing school, was eager to tag along. They bought their first house together and began to make it a home. This meant adopting another kitten named Ripley, and shortly after, their puppy Mia. Their house was always full of laughter, love, and pet hair. When Tyler decided he wanted to take a quick trip to Sedona, AZ with Riley for "his birthday," Riley had no idea about the secret surprise in store for her. On August 6, 2023, the couple had just completed one of Sedona's many beautiful hikes, and at the summit, Tyler got on one knee and asked Riley to marry him. Through her tears, she immediately said yes and made sure to tell everyone they saw on the way back down the trail that they were getting married! The remainder of the trip was spent sightseeing in town, perusing farmers' markets, winning big on slot machines, and telling everyone about their new engagement. Although they loved Arizona and the years they had spent there together, they decided it was time to make their way back to Texas. The couple had previously spent time in Austin, TX on vacation together and always dreamed about one day making it their home. They knew it would be the perfect place for their love story to continue and were determined to make it happen. So, they booked an Austin wedding venue, listed their Arizona house for sale, and set their sights on a new life in a new city. Through the ups and downs, Riley and Tyler have been so grateful for each other and for the welcoming, loving, and loyal support system that has been there to share each moment with them.
