We’re getting married!

To kick off the New Year, both sides of Kennedy’s family came to stay with the Yaegers in their beautiful home in Basalt, Colorado. Our itinerary was packed with long ski days and delicious dinners, but by Saturday everyone was ready for a peaceful day at the house—or so Kennedy thought. Little did she know, Michael had woken up at the crack of dawn Saturday morning to visit a park in downtown Basalt, where he planned to propose later that afternoon. While locals were out jogging and walking their dogs, Michael was in the park with a shovel, making sure his pre-picked spot wasn’t buried too deep in snow. Kennedy’s suspicions didn’t start to kick in until her mom, stepmom, and sister joined Michael’s mom on a grocery store run, and Kennedy was told she “didn’t need to go.” Then Michael pulled her aside and mentioned they were “going into town” soon, so she should start getting ready. As we got dressed, the snow began to fall. The two of us left the house, walked into the park, and amid the flurries Michael asked Kennedy to marry him along the river. When we returned home, our families had decorated with flowers, balloons, and of course, champagne. It was such a special day and the perfect start to this season of celebration. We can’t wait to celebrate with each and every one of you!
