4 becoming 1

We met in high school in 1995. Shawn was a baseball player and I was the softball player. We had mutual friends and in 1997 we decided to go bowling one night. The spark was there but timing wasn’t on our side then. Always keeping in touch with each other’s life through our mutual friend we moved through life apart. In 2014 I decided to reach out and add him as a friend on Facebook. We instantly connected and chatted all night catching up on the on the last 17 years. We had both lost our Mother’s and became parents. Talking felt like we have never missed any time at all. He came to my job to see me and as soon as I seen him I knew I had been missing out all those years. We went to the movies shortly there after. Although there where challenging moments the next four years, I knew he was my soulmate. Letting him walk out my life again was never a option after that. We overcome all the obstacles we were faced with. In March 2017 we decided to move in together to take the next step in our life. Adjusting as a blended family all fell into place. Shawn and I are best friends. Our children complete our family perfectly. I love Aly and he loves Brycen. On June 16 2018 a trip to NC that I believed would be for family pictures and a mini vacation turned into be one of the best days of my life. Shawn and my photographer friend had been planning a surprise proposal for weeks. The beach is my happy place and they both knew that. A styled shoot with all the perfect props Shawn got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to Marry him. Saying SERIOUSLY was my first reaction because I was in shock that after 21 years my dreams were finally coming true. The family I prayed for was becoming reality. Our mother’s were our best friends and although we will never heal from the loss, we now have each other. I always adored the marriage my parents had, so asking my Dad to share anniversaries with me was easy. June 22, 2019 will be my parents 45th anniversary and Our wedding day💍💕
