How we met

28th of February 2020

It all began on the 28th of February 2020. On a random Friday night, I (Stacy) got a call from my mom to meet her at one of the local bars to fetch dog food. Little did I know my life was about to change. I was definitely not dressed to meet the love of my life. I walked into the bar and took a seat next to my mom, when I glanced over to the opposite side of the bar I saw Armand sitting there with one of his friends. Armand then decided to buy me a fireball shooter. It was love at first shot. Following the shooter, he put on an Afrikaans song on the jukebox, walked up to me, and asked me for a dance. He would not accept no for an answer. After our dance, I went to the bathroom but when I came back Armand was nowhere to be seen. After this, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. His friend came to speak to me and gave me his Facebook details. So I took fate into my own hands and decided to shoot my shot. I messaged him. And so our story began. But little did I know he would soon be leaving to go back to the yachts. However, he replied to my message and asked me out on a proper date, Ziplining. (Side note, he did not know I was scared of heights, But to my delight, it was the perfect first date). And the rest was history.

The Proposal

3oth August 2024

After what felt like a lifetime, and a spontaneous “visa” trip to South Africa, the overdue question was asked. The night before, Armand’s sister and I were talking and she asked me if I would like to be apart of a makeup collaboration shoot, which I agreed to. Going in blind, not knowing what was to come I got up and got ready for the day. Armand showed no signs that he would be popping the big question. After my makeup was done, Armand drove to Herolds bay lookout point by the cross, where we met up with the photographer who was supposed to be doing the collaboration shoot. This is when I started to become suspicious about the whole situation as this was the place where we reunited after being apart. The suspicions grew as this spot held a lot of meaning to us. The photographer began to take photos of me, she asked me to turn around with my back facing her, Uhm this is supposed to be a makeup shoot, why was she not photographing my makeup? When she told me to turn back to face the camera, there he was, down on one knee with tears in his eyes, “will you marry me”. As the words came out of his mouth, I was in complete shock, the day I had been waiting for had finally arrived, the beginning of our forever.
