Heads Up: Downtown Roswell is great, but you should know their "Alive After 5" event that occurs the 3rd Thursday of every month will be happening the Thursday prior to the wedding. Streets will be closed and crowds will be out enjoying themselves. It's a street market event with various foods and live entertainment. If you don't mind dealing with a little bit of a crowd, it could be fun! If not, maybe work your way east toward Downtown Alpharetta instead! Downtown Roswell is very close to the wedding venue and a great place to go for dining, shopping, or to just walk around and see a different part of town. There are many great restaurants and a few breweries and bars in this area where you can keep yourself entertained.
Downtown Alpharetta is just a short 15 minute drive east of the wedding venue and is another location with a lot of local food, drink and shopping options. This is very close to where we both work, and we love after work happy hours in this area when the opportunity arises.
Avalon is a very nice, mixed use shopping and dining destination in the heart of Alpharetta, GA just 10-15 minutes east of the hotel and just 20 minutes from the wedding venue. It has a variety of high end stores, restaurants, and bars that would provide great food and entertainment options if you're looking for something to do prior to the wedding.
The Braves will be hosting the Milwaukee Brewers on our wedding weekend. It's roughly a half hour drive and a great opportunity to enjoy one of our favorite social activities.
Atlanta will be a host site for many World Cup games this summer, including a few dates right around our wedding weekend. If you'd like to get to town early or stay late and attend a game, they'll be happening at Mercedes Benz Stadium about 20 miles south of us in Downtown Atlanta.
