The Rieves Wedding

The year 2018 was a special year for this special couple. For on August 18, 2018, at their alma mater Mizzou, they officially met. The fall of their senior year, Mizzou hosted a welcome back party in the student center and they both decided to go. Although they remember the night differently, a simple Two Step between them remains constant. After that first dance, Greg developed a crush on Stacie. He asked his friends about the girl in a “Burnt” orange dress. Perhaps it was fate that after that moment they kept running into each other around campus, at parties, and various other events. Their frequent interactions made them realize they shared a circle of friends and little moments turned into hang outs. From game nights to birthday parties Greg made it a mission to make sure whenever he saw Stacie he would be the one to sit next to her.And as time passed Stacie’s feelings began to grow as she began to learn more about him. Eventually, they started hanging out without the group. On January 26th, 2019 Greg took Stacie to the infamous “Cheddars”. After dinner they played a card game. He printed out a list of questions, assigning each one a card in the deck, with the joker as the “Ask any question you want” card. Like magic, Greg had the joker in his hand and as his last question he asked Stacie to be his Girlfriend. Of course she said yes. Since then, Greg and Stacie have shared countless meaningful moments—graduations, family vacations, navigating a pandemic, enduring the loss of loved ones, and making a big move from their hometowns to the DMV. Each season has only strengthened their bond. On November 8th, 2025, Greg had another trick up his sleeve when he took Stacie to Fairbanks, Alaska. Stacie always spoke about her desire to see the Northern Lights so Greg ensured she saw them. However, Greg had an additional plan in mind: a proposal. After having an amazing weekend in Alaska, Greg concluded the trip with a tour to find the northern lights. While under the Aurora Lights, with frozen hands because he was so excited he forgot to put his gloves on, and an upside down ring box, Greg proposed to Stacie and through her curtain of tears she said yes—a moment neither of them will ever forget. Greg and Stacie are beyond excited for this next chapter of life and couldn’t imagine celebrating their wedding day without their closest friends and family by their side
