We met while working at Valley View Hospital in the spring of 2015. Dayton was a security guard at the hospital and I worked in the Radiology Department as an X-ray/CT Technologist. We were introduced to each other through a mutual friend and we started talking to each other in passing for several weeks afterwards. Dayton would stop by the radiology department and we would talk for hours about books, similar interests, and Dayton would always make up funny stories just to make me laugh. Dayton was so funny, adventurous, and charming that I just couldn't turn him down when he got up the nerve to ask me out and the rest is history... ;)

We got engaged on our two year anniversary. I had to work late that day and didn't get home until after 10 pm but that wasn't going to stop Dayton. He planned this amazing midnight snack with candles and beautiful flowers under the stars. Afterwards, Dayton suggested that we go on a midnight hike, which we have done before so I didn't think anything of it. We hiked a common trail in New Castle that over looks the town. Once we got to the top, we sat down at look out point and looked out over the town. We were not there very long when I decided I was getting tired and wanted to head back down the mountain. Dayton asked me to hold his flashlight for him so he could put the water bottles back into his backpack. When I flashed the light towards him, he was down on one knee and ask me "If I would be his midnight hiking partner for the rest of his life?" I was completely surprised and in shock so all I could say was " For Real...". He said "yes" and then I said "YES"!!!!
