If you are not renting a car, it is very easy to travel by train from MXP to Como. You can take the train from MXP to Sarenno & then Sarenno to Como Lago (it is the last stop, do not get off at the other Como stops). From Como, you can take the ferry, bus, or taxi to your final destination.

If you are taking the train from Milan City, you can travel from Milano Central to Como San Giovanni. From there you can take the bus, taxi, or ferry to your final destination.
