FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The dress code for our ceremony & reception is Beach Formal.

Question

Are our children invited to the wedding?

Answer

We love all of the children in our families, and they are welcome to come down if you are staying on the Maho Beach side of the hotel. However, we are not having any guests under 21 at the reception. Since the ceremony is in a public space, they are more than welcome to be part of that, and we would love to have them. Should you be interested, there is a resort babysitter available. Please contact Stacey for more information.

Question

We can't wait to go! But about those passports...

Answer

You must have a valid passport to travel to St. Maarten. Passport applications are taking longer than normal so please apply ASAP. Here is the link to the Passport Application: https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds11.pdf If you already have a passport, please make sure that the expiration date is after August 18, 2025. If it expires prior to that date you should renew it. Here is the link for Passport Renewal: https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds82.pdf If you have lost your passport, please go to this link and follow instructions from the Department of State: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/lost-stolen.html

Question

We made it! What is the best way to get to the hotel from the airport?

Answer

The quickest and easiest way to get to the resort is by taxi. It's a quick 10 minute ride and the fare is $10 for 2 people. After you exit the airport building the taxi stand is to your left, you must ask the taxi captain to call the car for you.

Question

We’d like to book dates outside of the range available through the link on the website— what should we do?

Answer

The best way to do this would be to call the hotel directly and ask for someone in the wedding office. The phone number for the hotel is +1 (800) 223-0757. If you have any trouble getting through or book through the hotels direct website and not through our block, please reach out to Stacey as soon as possible and she will get in touch with someone.

Question

What if we want to stay somewhere else?

Answer

St. Maarten has an abundance of hotels, however, we encourage everyone to stay at the Sonesta (on either side) to ensure that you are able to be part of the fun we'll be having all weekend long. If you stay elsewhere, you will be able to come onto the Sonesta property on the day of the wedding only for a limited number of hours. If you wish to come by any other day, there is a fee of $175 per person, per day, granting you access to all of the amenities that the all-inclusive has to offer.
