Becca Restaurant & Garden is a farm to table restaurant located in the Historic Cavalier Hotel. Modern and sophisticated, the restaurant boasts bright and inspired fare, locally sourced ingredients and a sumptuous outdoor garden setting. Take a stroll along the chef's garden and overlook the sunken garden where the ceremony will take place.
The Hunt Room is a contemporary tavern with a classic, rustic vibe that is located on the bottom floor of the Cavalier. Think cozy leather couches and rich woods, handcrafted cocktails and menus featuring everything from classic pub fare to more adventurous dishes like venison, quail and duck. The Hunt Room's signature cocktail is a smoked old fashion utilizing their in house whiskey, distilled in the adjacent room.
Located on property adjacent to the Hunt Room, Tarnished Truth is noted as being the first and only distillery in the country that is operating inside of a five-star hotel. Peak through the windows, stop by the gift shop, or take the full tour to see where all of our wedding spirits were made! Even if you're not much of a spirits person, we highly suggest trying their Bourbon Cream on the rocks for a night cap or in your morning coffee for a quick pick me up.
Orion's Roof has the best view of Virginia Beach, hands down. This high-end dining experience is located directly across from the Cavalier at the very top of the board walk. While everything here is delicious, they have a limited sushi menu that we highly suggest. For a lighter crowd and a brighter vibe, try the lunch menu.
This is very much our favorite place in Virginia Beach, and we would love for you to enjoy it as well if you get the chance. Esoteric specializes in craft cocktails and farm-to-table cooking. If you're looking to catch happy hour (4-6pm), try some of the hidden gems that are only on their bar menu like Stacey's favorite Buffalo wings with blue cheese dust or Jared's favorite duck tacos. You can't go wrong here no matter what you order.
This hidden gem is our favorite brunch spot. The food, the drinks, and the atmosphere create a great vibe to start your day. No reservations are taken, and the wait can get long at peak times. So, we usually choose to sit at the bar and chat with our favorite staff members. Try the Proper Rock if you're a fan of oysters, and wash it down with potentially the best Orange Crush at the beach!
Lolly's is easily Jared's favorite late night snack. Facing the boardwalk, you'll find handmade ice cream with the freshest ingredients. From shakes to banana splits, you can't go wrong.. except for maybe the coffee ice cream.. It's sadly not their best.
Looking for some off-sand action? Check out Beachside Social for a unique shuffleboard bar where we play on a winter league. Rent a lane by the hour, get a lesson from the staff, and whip those biscuits (the pucks) til someone wins. If you haven't played yet, the games are short, the action is high, and the emotions get hot!
Known for their GIANT slices, Benny's is a quintessential hole-in-the-wall pizza spot on the boardwalk to grab a quick bite. If you're feeling slightly more than peckish, grab a whole pie. The only size they carry is 28 inches wide. Jared's favorite slice here is the siracha sausage while Stacey prefers the classic pepperoni.
Smartmouth's Pilot House is where they invent and test new brews for the brand. If the do well here, they go into production. They always have the best sellers, but depending on the day, you might also find a beer made with Lucky Charms. Inside, they have partnered with a local bakery who branched out and now makes a mean brick oven pizza at this location.
The Shack is an outdoor bar at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and a local favorite! VB's famous crushes, lawn games, fire pits, local events, and live music. In short, The Shack is a vibe unto itself - You're just going to have to stop by.
Enjoy fresh local seafood, the ocean front's largest raw bar, and coastal comfort food with cocktails and amazing ocean views at this casual Virginia Beach seafood restaurant. Catch 31 is located beside the statue of King Neptune (yes, the obligatory tourist selfie is required) as well as the 31st Street stage. Past free concerts have included Damien Marley and the Wailers, Gin Blossoms, The Wallflowers, and even one of Coolio's last performances (RIP🙏).
Cool, speakeasy-themed restaurant serving hearty, unique hamburgers & specialty cocktails. If you're a fan of Old Fashions, this is the spot for you. With a literal wall full of specialty whiskeys, they'll have something new for you to try.
Mahi's Sushi & Seafood is known for being the only sushi bar on the boardwalk. With great outdoor and indoor seating options, you can eat fresh seafood with an ocean view. Depending on the night, you may also be treated to one of the weekly free concerts at the adjacent pavilion. Second only to Orion's Roof in our opinion, this is our go-to spot for sushi.
Waterman's has a long history that dates back to the 1960's. A well known spot by tourists, Waterman's claim to fame is that they brought the 'Orange Crush' to the shores of Virginia Beach. Touting fresh seafood and rich history, Waterman's is a solid choice for any meal of the day.
Waterman Spirits is Virginia's premium line of organic, coral-filtered vodkas and naturally-flavored liqueurs. While the intent was to distill all of their own spirits here, this location was just too small and now operates as a tasting room and R&D facility for the brand, where they create and test new spirits. Their not-so-secret, secret is that Chesapeake Bay Distillery has quietly been bottling and labeling Waterman's Spirits for them since they opened.
Excursions offer an unforgettable journey in search of Virginia's most common and charismatic marine mammal: the bottlenose dolphin. If you are ready to find adventure, make memories, and inhale the fresh air, then come let the salty ocean mist kiss your cheeks and the offshore breezes fill your lungs.
