This love story began in 2018 when Stacey and Dayle matched on Tinder… though at the time, neither of them realized they had just met their future spouse. (Swipe right really said, “for life.”) Their first date at Moxies set the tone. Dayle was instantly captivated by Stacey’s warmth—her shy, tender, nurturing energy that somehow made him feel both calm and completely smitten. Both in their early 20s and still figuring out life, they continued traveling, growing, and meeting new people. But no matter where life took them, it had a funny habit of nudging them back toward each other—like the world’s most persistent rom-com plotline. When they reconnected months later, that original spark was re-ignited. From that moment on, it was game over. Together, they embraced their shared identity as full-time foodies, sampling cuisines far and wide. They traveled to places near and far, spent endless hours on FaceTime, and developed the sacred ritual of daily debriefs—because what’s a relationship without a full recap of the highs, lows, and mildly dramatic moments in between? Meeting Stacey’s family was a milestone for Dayle—particularly because, for the first time in his life, he felt like an NBA athlete. Towering over everyone, he was slightly overwhelmed—but thankfully, his nerves were short-lived (no pun intended). It soon became clear that the Lazaro family shared many similarities with the Rodrigues family: a strong emphasis on family, a love for homemade meals, and a natural rhythm of lighthearted, playful banter. The environment ultimately felt familiar and welcoming. To this day, those same three ingredients define Stacey and Dayle’s relationship: great family, great food, and great jokes at each other’s expense. From uncovering hidden culinary gems, to unforgettable adventures in Costa Rica and Greece, to surviving COVID and discovering that they actually really like each other (even in sweatpants and Pj's, 24/7), their journey has been equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. And of course, there was the small but significant detail of getting engaged in Greece the spring of 2024. Stacey and Dayle are planning a wedding that promises love, laughter, and a packed dance floor. They can’t wait to celebrate with all of you and officially seal the deal that started with one very fateful swipe.
