The Witzke Home 7783 Santos Road Newcastle, California -Formal Attire, dancing shoes encouraged-
It was the day before Thanksgiving in 2008 that we met. Our schedules aligned and we both ended up at the same gym. After stealing glances across the gym floor for months, Andrew asked for a date. Patience is a virtue of his and we finally had our first date in April of 2009. Our friendship blossomed as Andrew introduced me to sushi for the first time. Since then we have shared a multitude of firsts. We've hiked volcanoes, snow camped in storms, driven the French countryside, climbed half dome, and zip lined through the jungle in Costa Rica. Through our adventures friendship grew into a deep soul satisfying love, and our hearts were filled with the contentment of finding each other. He brings me outside of my comfort zone, and I remind him that the heart is the best part of ourselves. We choose “quality” over “quantity.” We opt for experiences over things, but value a night at home with our pup as a family as much as we love traveling to far away places. We enjoy the challenges of life as much as we enjoy the easy wins, but don’t think we will just get out of the way, we know how to fight for things we believe in. We have completely opposite personalities. Him-outgoing, goofy, skips dinner, drinks cider, loves dessert. Her-introvert, quiet, never skips a meal, drinks IPA's, competitive, and doesn't care for sweets. Even though we couldn’t be more different, we realized quickly that when it came down to the stuff that mattered most to us – family, values, commitment, loyalty – both of us were in complete agreement. And so, all at once, we were all in.
It was the perfect day. We went snowshoeing. She was hungry, but instead of a Clif Bar, I reached into my pocket and produced a ring. -Andrew
